Who is happy with their TV?

I know this is an enthusiast's forum and as such, we are critical of our displays. We can endlessly debate the shortcomings of various products. But, most of the time, we are watching non-critical programming. For all of those instances, who is satisfied with their TV under standard viewing conditions where we just enjoy the experience not not look for fault.

Samsung q90 and 9fn. Love them both. Hardly ever watch my Epson projector.

I have the sony z9d and not only am I very happy with it I wont be upgrading that tv anytime soon because there is nothing better out there.
Ha! Sony should be happy with this thread.
I'm still satisfied with my 2011, floor demo, 70" Sharp. Still looks good especially with Blu-Ray. I want a new, larger set but I'm having a hard time justifying it since this set is still working perfectly. If the LG 77 OLED were to get down to $3000 I would really be tempted.

Maybe the TCL 8 series if it's as good as expected at $2000.

FYI - The 75" 8 Series has a $3K MSRP but it will probably dip a decent amount lower than that eventually

Maybe you're referring to the 65" size which is $2K? But I would not recommend downsizing from your 70" Sharp

If you're feeling you need a larger set and already have a 70" set, I think the only true upgrade from there would be to the 85" size

Supposedly TCL has plans for an 85" in 2020 so I would hold out especially since you're currently happy with your set. (Of course there's other 85" models already on the market too.)

Been looking some for the past few months. Was thinking Sony OLED but cost prohibitive in 77". Samsung 75 Q90R is of interest if it wasn't for Samsungs well know poor support. Also looking to see how the TCL 75" 8 series fairs in reviews, etc..
But then again I look at the beautiful picture on my Sony 75X940E and say what's the point :).

55” Sony X930D and LG OLED65C9. Very happy with both my sets. Will get a new TV only when one dies or 6 years, whichever comes first.
Panasonic TH-42PX80U in the family room for (10+ ?) years. Still a great picture.

Purchased a XBR-65X900F a few months ago that has a decent picture with few tweaks. With some more work should be solid.

ETA: My bad, just noticed this was in the LCD forum.

Yeah no reason to upgrade as the 940E was/is a fantastic set. Unless you want an additional TV for a HT setup in a dark environment.. then yeah, go OLED for sure.

Since you're already at the 75" size, I'd wait for a future 85" mini-LED (or dual cell LED), or when 85"/88" OLED becomes more affordable.

77C8, 65C8, 75Q8FN, 940e, yeah I like TV's! My 77C8 is definitely in my makeshift HT, 940e in livingroom and Q8 in bedroom, and youngest son got my 65 C8...I like em all and each serve their purpose!

Got a Samsung QN82Q80 last month to replace a HLA67A750A1FXZA from 2008. Very pleased with it. My son got the old TV in his apartment so he's happy too. It still looks great, even after 11 years.
Vizio P65-F1. Still very happy with it after 1 year.

Yeah no reason to upgrade ....
TV, yeah, no problem, but maybe upgrade your football team! SkinsDC, so Washington Redskins, really? How much more can you take? Bad owner, bad president/GM, bad coaches, bad players, etc.

On the bright side they do play Miami this Sunday so a good chance for their first win. ;)
Still astounded by my 65” Sony 930e (light canon)!! Have last years 55” tcl 6 series that my wife watches, and for the price it’s an unreal picture imo....looking forward to reviews on the tcl 8 series, because I am itching for a 75 incher.

Very happy. Next stop in several years, maybe a 75" 8K. Only The Shadow knows.
