I am looking at purchasing the Sony KDL-52EX700 series. When I stopped by Video Only the sales person was trying to steer me away from the Sony towards a Samsung UN55C6300. Says the Sony's display were made by Haier who appears to have recently entered the LCD TV market. At least that's my impression by the lack of reviews. Sony had a contract with Samsung to provide displays but due to contract issues they are now being provided by Sharp. As a stopgap measure Sony contracted out to Haier? This was the reason for the 52" Sonys. Anyone know if this was/is true? I've been able to verify the the switch from Samsung to Sharp but not the part about Haier. I like the 52 vs the 55. The 52 has a narrower bezel. Purely an aesthetic reason but I'm the buyer. Currently have a Sony KDL-40W5100. Very happy with it.
