I have 3 separate HTPC's through the house, each hooked up to their own audio systems, and all hard wired networked connected. I had been hoping to use the new "Play to" feature in Win7 in order to play the same sounds that are currently playing on one system onto one (or both) of my other HTPC's. Unfortunately, the "Play to" feature does not do this. It'll play on the other system, but not on the host system at the same time.

Is there any piece of software out there (preferably free) that will allow me to do what I want?

Joe, one solution is to use squeezeplay (a free software which must be running on each PC which you want to play music on), and to make your music available from squeezeserver (free download from Logitech).

from any instance of squeezeplay, you can control what plays the various computers running squeezeplay (you can set groups or control each of them individually).

this solution also with Logitech's squeezebox devices, with behave as instanced of squeezeplay.
