Bravo HD, TNT HD, Discovery HD, etc. Anyone know or hear via the grapevine who's going HD next? I heard that TBS might. Nothing specific.

(Does Fox count?)

I'd bet on TBS if I were forced to.

There are more than enough HD channels out there. The problem is lack of carriers. Most of us on the $11/month package with DirecTV will gladly pay more for more HD channels (well, at least I am).

Oh great, I would love to see that...nothing like double the posting space taken up by people moaning and whining about TWO ESPN channels. That would be a joy.

Well, that 's not EXACTLY why I want it. ;)

I think it's a little odd how on ESPN they keep saying that "HDTV is MADE for hockey" (they said this again last night) and they again showed how 16x9 shows so much more of the action.

Now, just recently, they've announce all NHL games that ESPN (the company) will broadcast next year will be on ESPN2.

Hmmm........

i'm not paying more for d*'s hd package. As it is, i feel we pay too much for 4 channels. D* has to be making soooo much money off of us right now.

time warner (houston) charges $3 for all the hd channels and they have all except espn-hd, and that $3 is just for hdnet and hdnet movies. All the others are free.

If D* tries to charge more, hello voom.

I would love ESPN2-HD, but I doubt there are enough mobile HD units for that. I'm sure that kicking hockey off ESPN was a result of the new agreements with the NHL and NBC.

All those channels mentioned will, I'm sure, come to pass in time. What bothers me is that Comcast won't carry them, at least not for many months or years. I'm not sure when DiscoveryHD launched, but it will take Comcast (launched their HD service in November 2002 I believe) 21 or more months to get one of the most popular HD channels around. BravoHD, TNT-HD will be similarly delayed. We're still waiting for a date.

I think A&E-HD would be great if it were non-commercial, like DiscoveryHD. Weather-HD might be interesting. I could probably skip OLN-HD, FOOD-HD,

etc.

As far as costs, yes, I would pay extra for more HD, but Comcast wouldn't get more money from me, I would just cut out movie channels, as I would have enough HD without them (and more stuff my wife would like).

Love the chance to rant and hear other peoples' frustrations as well.
