Poll will be up in a minute.

Please bear in mind that the poll is asking who's your FAVORITE TV maker, not necessarily who's the best TV maker IYO. The two definitely overlap, but are not exactly the same.

Also note that the poll only allows for a max of 10 choices, so I couldn't include every TV maker. I did try to include the ten who had the best chance of winning the poll. My apologies to fans of RCA, Hitachi, Westinghouse, Sceptre, Runco, Polaroid, Sylvania, et al.

Hopefully, there are no particularly vicious debates over who makes the best TVs.

If there is any discussion of such things, I'd strongly urge everyone to keep it polite.

I would second that.

Hitachi should have been on list even though they are not big players in the larger lcd market.

I think Panasonic is a definite contender for 'Best Bang for the Buck'.

This isn't a "which brand offers the best bang for buck" poll, it's a "which brand is the best" poll. But I do agree that Toshiba offers the best bang for buck, however, Samsung is my favorite LCD brand (seeing how were in the LCD section). Or Panasonic for Best bang for buck Plasma, and Pioneer for best overall.

No, this is a "which brand is your FAVORITE" poll. For whatever reason you want.

I should know. I made the poll.

Don't know what these threads serve except to start a flame war.

I'm really hoping it doesn't go that way, hence my admonitions in post #2.

Guess we'll find out how mature everyone's willing to be.

Sounds like the same thing to me.

Whatever, don't want to start an argument over something stupid.

Don't have one because there isn't one. I love my Samsung but I wouldn't hesitate to by the best tv at my budget if I were still in the market no matter what brand it is and that can change weekly if you follow prices closely.

Just got back from Japan and my answer is Sharp. Seen the new XS-1 in action and it is impressive.

Didn't see a Samsung in a store anywhere there, hmmm......
