why Channelmaster remove CM4228HD from their catalog?

Anyone has any idea why Channelmaster remove CM4228HD from their catalog? Are they coming up with a newly designed 4228HD or are they trying to phase this model?

Get the Antennas Direct DB8 or the original 4228 instead. Most reviews show that the 4228HD performs worse than its predecessor.

However it would probably be better if you posted a TVFool report and let the members on this forum decide whether you actually need an antenna of that strength. An antenna like that would be overkill for all but deep fringe reception areas.

Except the one that relies on actual field measurements with a spectrum analyzer ...

So it seems both have their pros and cons then. DB8 excels above channel 40 while the 4228HD performs well at the channel 30 range.

It would probably all come down to, again, a TVFool report to decide which is best.
AntennaHacks will be doing a test with the old discontinued American made CM 4228A vs the new Chinese made 4228HD, plus the Kosmic SuperQuad very soon.

Should be interesting.

I hope AH includes the (often overlooked) Antennacraft U8000 , plus some VHF-HI channels in their tests.

@samstom,

I just went to the CM site and the 4228HD is still listed. The instructions are wrong, though. The .pdf is for the old CM4228, which was made in the US.
VHF High is in the plans for testing from what I understand.
If you have a U-8000 that you can send him, Im sure he will test it. He will even send it back to you after testing.

We really do need more testing of UHF/VHF-hi combos. I don't see nearly enough of those being done.
Ive seen a spectrum analyzer plot where a 4228HD is equal to the largest of the Winegard VHF Hi/UHF Combo series....the 7698p.....on VHF High....in signal strength, but multipath was a problem as the 4228HD has a wide beamwidth and low F/B Ratio at VHF High frequencies.

If I had a spare U8000, I would do that. But I don't.

Won't that mainly affect your short range reception, though? If you're using the CM4228HD for long fringe reception, is the multipath problem even a consideration?
