dunno of many dvd players, period, that have a hdmi "input"...



not all tv's have vertical ports... as to "why do some?"... who knows? could be any number of reasons... it fits better on the board that way, and so on... or they just decided to do it that way...

I think it has to do with how the inputs are provided in the TV. On my TV (JVC HD-70FH97 LCoS RPTV) the inputs and outputs are provided on circuit boards so the ports really only fit vertically.
