Has anyone else noticed that since the football season has started that ESPN-HD has no baseball scheduled to be in HD?

I love football like most others but this is the best time in baseball with the pennant and wildcard races.

Come on ESPN.. use my $2.50 a month subscription fee and get a truck out to one of your baseball games of the week!

I highly doubt it.

Baseball does not even come close to the viewership of College Football and the NFL. ESPN will put the HD where the money is and right now it's Football.

I'm having a hard time figuring out why most of the games on ESPN I've seen look so lousy. The baseball broadcasted on HDNet last year looked near perfect. I haven't seen one yet on ESPN that even comes close in quality. Is it not true HD?

Well, since I'm not a market that has OTA HD, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and keep hopeful that in time they'll show all programs in HD on their HD channel, like Discovery seems to be doing. :)

Hmmm...I still think we should focus on asking for more HD material on the first channel before asking for a second. There are plenty of opportunities for HD baseball that wouldn't conflict with Sunday Night Football.

Its also a matter of them getting more hdtv trucks. I thought I remember reading that they currently have only two units atm. One of those goes to Sunday Night NFL and the other to the Saturday college football game. I'm have no idea how long it takes for them to tear down and set up for these games, but if u give them an extra day to do this plus travel time, I doubt we will see any other games in hdtv for awhile.

I have to chime in here as a baseball fan ever since the days of Stan Musial and Marty Marion, my boyhood heroes, even though I'm also a big football fan. Disney muscles HDNet out of any HD baseball this whole year so that it has it all to itself. Then just as the pennant races heat out, Disney drops HD baseball like a hot potato for whatever reason. It doesn't seem fair, especially for us who can't get iNHD if that's what it's called.

I couldn't agree more, I am so disappointed in the HD content on ESPNHD that I think that I will cancel my subscription. I pay $10.99 for 1 NFL game on sunday night? I don't think so. They play the same stuff over and over on those other channels (Discovery and HDnet) any way. I can only stand to watch each "Trading Spaces" epsode once. Who gives a Rats A** about scoccer Mark Cuban?????? you want to talk about ratings.

If the MLB playoffs are not going to be in HD I will be making the call. Lord knows that I cant live another day with out "playmakers" being in HD. What a joke that thing is.

It's simple math really: Baseball ratings suck and football ratings are through the roof.

Doesn't matter who "likes" baseball more or less, it's all about the ratings baby.

They announced a few weeks ago that the games that were on the Family Channel last year will be on ESPN and ESPN2 this year. They will have some of the the 1st round (Division Series) games.
