Hopefully this board can help.

This what I have I built my system myself.

MSI "K8T Neo-FIS2R" K8T800 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket 754

SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600PRO Video Card, 256MB DDR

ATI HD Wonder

AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 512KB L2 Cache

Corsair Value Select Dual Kits 184 Pin 1GB DDR PC-3200

WD Special Edition 120GB 7200RPM IDE HD for OS and system files

(2) Western Digital 200GB 7200RPM SATA HD in RAID 0

NEC 16X Double Layer DVD±RW Drive

Running MCE2005

To me, my system runs SLOW and I don't know why. The processor seems to be working alot harder than it should. I get 100% alot of time when doing simple tasks. Also I get alot of choppy HD video. My antenna is in the attic and pulling in a strong signal. Even the overall interface of MCE2005 is slow.

I tried to overclock and it becomes unstable.

I built this machine thinking it would be plenty for MCE and to me its just not working right.

Any help?

get rid of every piece of softawre you don't need..

disable firewall programs, virus scanners, turn off your windows auto update, turn off screen saver, power saving features....basicaly, anything that will use cpu cycles.

if that fixes it..you can slowly add back one at a time the really important stuff (firewall) and see if any problems arise.

also, you should go to your windows task manager (control/alt/del) and see what your cpu usage is at "rest" should be quite low. if it isn't, then check the applications and processes running and try and figure out what's chewing up your cpu cycles.

also, were there chipset drivers for your motherboard and did you load them.

make sure you have the latest drivers for your vid card

bios update?
