Hi, I emailed Pete at Wide usa about rumors I heard about a improved 2400A and he replied with this....
"Hello Bob
Indeed we have 10ea units in stock here in the USA.
Brightness is 300 nits (88 Footlamberts) Vs the older one at 240 nits ( 70
Footlamberts). The speed of the panel is now at Rise time 12ms and Fall time 10ms Vs the older 17ms rise and 13ms fall.
Our unit has always been able to support 1920 x 1200 native resolution.
Currently the 2400A is available as a package (pivot stand and G-F2 card)
for $4,600.00 and we can ship immediately (form our distributor)"
So is that a pretty impressive rise/fall time and brightness? I suppose the contrast remains the same at 400:1.
Other than that, in the specs it says 8 bit DVI. Are there lcd panels out there from ibm/apple/lg/samsung that are 10 bit DVI? I will be running whatever panel I get from DVI so that's keeping me from getting the super high res IBM.
Thanks, Bob C
