Widescreen TVs are 30" and 34" not 32" diagonal. HDTVs use component video input and some have the newer DVI/HDCP port, but none provide a VGA/RGB input now. Only a few big Mitsubishi RPTVs provided a VGA input. You can buy a separate VGA to component video transcoder to convert a VGA output to a component format.

Philips 30PW8520, 30PW9818, 34PW9818 and 34PW8520 provide DB15 (VGA/RGBHV) inputs and are widescreen. They also have a 32PT8320 (32" 4:3) with the same input. I believe Zenith also has a 34" widescreen with a DB15.

Maybe in the USA they are, but here in sweden (europe) they are 32 or 36 inch, I don`t think I have ever seen a 30 or 34 inch diagonal TV.

Thats because in the USA they publish the "viewable" diagonal distance which is always a couple inches less than the CRT's diagonal which is used in advertising for other countries. So the european 32" tube is the same as the USA 30" set, and the european 36" tube is the same as that in the USA 34" set.

ndjr - you should have listed your location, then you would have gotten more information for your special area.

Widescreen monitors with VGA inputs are available in the USA. The brands to consider are: Monivision, CTX, Princeton Graphics, Loewe, and NetTV.

Monivision sells a line of widescreen monitors including a 34" widescreen. Each Monivision has 2 VGA inputs.

Yes ndjr, you have to complain to your governments to pass a law to use viewable size vs tube size like the USA did some years ago. Before that, it used to be the tube size in the USA like elsewhere. For computer monitors however its still the tube size measurment even over here.
