They have a Sony G-90 and a Runco 1101. And since Sam Runco will be there I bet you can guess which unit they will be using.

I thought that D-Theater restricted the display devices to those that have built-in decoders. I have an Electrohome 9500LC projector and assumed that I wouldn't be able to play D-Theater through it. This is great news, unless it's a special sanctioned demonstration only.

Hi Craig:

What BUILT-IN DECODERS were you refering to? I have played the 2 D-Theater concert tapes on my RCA 38-inch direct-view set via the component-video inputs on the RCA! And I am sure the movie tapes should also play in the same manner!

It must be that I was confused by the copy-protection restrictions discussed so frequently in this section. Obviously this is a different beast, where they have control of the VCR and the tape itself. What piece or pieces of equipment did you buy to be able to play your tapes, and what did you pay? Thanks.

If this is going to be the only way to watch prerecorded high def material, so be it. Another expensive toy to buy.

You hook-up the JVC to your projector via the componate inputs and if you only have RGBHV then you can convert componate to RGBHV using Key digiatals converter. I sell these if you cant find one locally.
