Widescreen TV Philips 34PW8502

I've been reading a lot of threads about 34" widescreen TVs, such as the Toshiba 34HF84, and the Sony XBRs, but have not heard anyone mention the Philips 34PW8502. Like some, I have to stick with a width size of less than 39" and the only ones I have found to fit this mold is the Toshiba and the Philips. I've read too many horror stories about the 34HF84 at least the ones that were manufactured during the first half of the year. Any input would be appreciated.

I'd say the Toshiba is a lot higher quality, reliability and more features than the Philips. I think the "horror" stories on the Toshiba are overblown, there are also a lot of reports from satisified Toshiba 34HF84 owners.

Check some other threads around here - there are several other smaller 34" WS CRTs out there - Panny has a nice one, as does JVC (if you can still get it). Both are much smaller than 39"..

Do you know the model number for the panny that has a width smaller than 39" ? The only one that I can find is CT-34WX54 and it is 39.4". Also, anyone else hear anything about the Philips 34PW8502? I saw in one of these threads that CR lists it 5th after the 3 sonys and the Panasonic in the 34" range.
