Wii battery cover: where to find?

1098 Views 14 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  S-dogg

I opened the battery cover of my Wii controller and dropped it. By doing so I cracked one of the two notches of the battery door. The question is: where can I buy the replacement battery cover/door?

TIA.

your best bet would be to go to walmart or bestbuy and purchase one of those wiimote skins that go over your wii mote unless of course you want to go the hillbilly/ghetto way and fix it with tape. i highly doubt you will just find a replacement battery cover
Gah! I hat those skins. Ain't it going to be PITA when changing the batteries? I guess it's still better than the duct-tape approach

well i'll be a duck on ice... i guess u can find them
and it's only a buck! I'm going to check whether I can just pick it up from their service centre. It's close enough to my house anyway. Thank you for the link!
Nyko sells replacement battery covers, with different colored rubberized grips (basically the same as their rechargeable battery cover, without the notch cut into it for the contacts).

I can't believe Nintendo hasn't released an official recharge kit yet. The way that remote eats batteries, they'd sell a ton (not to mention eliminating this problem).

isn't it easier (well, not easier but definitely cheaper) just to get 2,800 mAh rechargeable AA?

It certainly is easier to use regular rechargables, but it's odd that Nintendo of all companies would pass up an opportunity for free money.

I'm using Sanyo Eneloop rechargables in my 4 controllers. They last longer than the Energizer brand and they can hold a charge for years. As a bonus the charger and batteries match the Wii, all white.

Yes, definitely cheaper, but I was thinking in response to the broken battery cover (which I almost broke the first time I opened it, so I feel your pain
).

But sometimes expensive solutions succeed too - just look at the iPod...

I've ordered the door!

Price for the door: $1

Price for shipping: $5

Puzzled why it requires $5 to ship a battery door: priceless!

Waiting 7-10 business days for the product to ship: even MORE priceless!

so right now I use saran wrap for the remote.
(until the new battery door arrives, that is)

The shipping is only $1 - the handling, OTOH, costs $4. That's how they get you...

I think my lan adapter was $5 shipping, so it's probably the lowest rate they charge.
