I just bought it with my second controller and I have not played it yet. I left my Wii at a friends house tonight so I will try to let you know what I think by tomorrow night. The reviews I have read on sites like IGN said it was fun, but not nearly as good as Wii Sports.

The "duck hunt" game is a mix of balloon hunt, clay plate hunt, spaceship hunt, a few ducks are in there but not like what you think. The game is more fun when you play with someone.

Bull Riding is the best. Duck Hunt is pretty basic and seems easy as heck.

Thanks! I'll be playing (mostly) with my daughter and will be playing for about 10-20 minutes at a time. So I guess that'll work for me. Yaay!

Libertarian, I've also ordered the Rabbids game on eBay (about $10 cheaper than Canada).

PS: is this controller a must have? I have several Gamecube games and will buy several classic games from Nintendo online.

I think most NES games can be played with the Wii-mote turned sideways...and all Gamecube games can be played with the regular Gamecube controller.

But you will need the classic controller to play N64 and Super Nintendo games.

That reminds me, I need to download Street Fighter 2 tonight...lots of good memories with the SNES version

All the SNES and N64 games are playable with the GameCube controller as well.

The advantage of the Classic Controller is that it's wireless, at least in that it plugs into the Wiimote. The button layout is suspect for some games though.

Many people have been opting to go with a GameCube Wavebird controller to get the best experience all-around.

aw damn! I just bought a couple of Gamecube games and couldn't play them with the Wii controller. I was about to post my finding when I saw you post.

Dang! $60 down the drain (well, not really, but now I have to buy a couple more Gamecube controllers
)

corrected

snes games can be played with the cube controller, but in super mario world for example, the regular jump is b, spin jump is a, and the button to hold shells and stuff is x (very awkward, it alone made me buy the classic controller)

I like the shooting range game on it and that is about it really.

So I just got done playing with my family for a few hours and here is my .02.

There are 9 minigames that are kind of like tutorials for how to use the Wii remote. Some are fun and some are not. All are meant to be multiplayer of course.

Shooting range: It's duck hunt with a twist or two. You can't go wrong. Very fun.

Find Mii: You pick out Mii's that look alike or different out of a crowd of Mii's. As boring as it sounds.

Table tennis: Kind of like the Wii Sports tennis game but not as complex and not as fun. Still worth a try or two.

Pose Mii: Mii's fall across the screen and you twist your controller to match a Mii that you control to the same poses as the falling Mii's are making. Mildly fun at best.

Laser Hockey: Kinda fun. But quickly wears out.

Billiards: They did an OK job with this one but it doesn't have that fun factor.

Fishing: A very simplified fishing game that can be fun with many players competing for the same fish. I'll take the Zelda mini fishing game any day though.

Charge: You ride a cow and race it against other cows using the Wii remote as a steering wheel. It is hilarious to watch and I had a blast. Zany fun. It is what I imagine that Rayman Raving Rabbids is like. (That will probably be my next multiplayer game purchase)

Tanks: A 2D game in which you control a tank and destroy other tanks. I had a good time with this one.

Overall it is a fun but very short distraction. The games are hit and miss. I will probably go back to it a few times when I have people over. I would say it is worth the extra ten bucks, but it would not be worth an extra twenty.

Finally bought and played it. It's quite fun... and for the price difference of $5 ($45 controller only, $50 controller + Wiiplay -- pricing at various stores in Toronto) it's well worth the money.

Now to get Game controllers

I think it's a good way to show people what the wii can do without the sports theme -- sort of an extension of Wii Sports. I wouldn't look to it for an extended amount of fun -- but for shallow experiences that people an pick up and compete against one another, it's pretty good.
