Will an HDMI 1.3 cable work on a Bravia V40A10.

I bought the TV back in 2006. At that time 1.3 HDMIs didn't exist.

Yes an HDMI v1.3 cable will work, they are backward compatible.


I believe the only difference is a similar difference of Ethernet cables, cat5 has less throughput of a cat6 cable because the resistance of wire used or something on that line. Since HDMI 1.3 has the capability of a lot higher bandwidth it uses different standing of wire I believe.

It will work for sending video over it. but some of the more advanced two away communication options between component and the TV will not work.
