Will DirecTv allow you to order distant HD network channels?

I noticed there are HD network channels beyond the subsribed HD channels. Will DirecTV let you order those along with your normal network channels? I think they offered me the distant SD channles one time but I turned them down since I could get local. Would be nice to catch that Philly/Cowboy game in at least HD lite.

Short answer: probably not. If you can get broadcast networks over the air and none of them are owned BY the network, the odds are thin. If you live in a city where DirecTV offers networks in HD, then definitely not. There are ways, but it could entail a good deal of work. You might put your location in your profile and we can give you a better answer in fewer posts.
Well actually I live 87 miles from Shreveport. I am probably on the outer edge of reception since the stations would be all or nothing for me. I am going to give DTV a call and try. I'm still going to check and see if my antenna will pick them up. Does the distant channels look ok? Are they recompressed badly too?
I hooked up my outside antenna and all I could get is the DT channel 3 locally and some pbs channels. Can't get Fox, NBC, CW 21 or CBS local. Channel 3 Abc DT looks only marninally better out of Shreveport. You would think I can pickup better than that. Those channels I don't get must have weak signals. Channel 3 comes in great although the HD doesn't look all that hot.
Even if you qualify you will probably still have to get waivers from the stations and the chances of thet happening are pretty slim. Very seldom do they grant waivers anymore.
The only way I managed to receive all four DNS in HD was to "move" to a white area. Mena, AR has a blanket waiver from the Little Rock stations, so any address in that zip code automatically qualifies. My real address qualifies for FOX and ABC-HD.... I know I could have gotten CBS-HD if I wanted to get the "in-market" CBS affiliate to do a signal test... "moving" is the simpliest thing to do, and it's easy :)
