I have a 120 inch screen with a 20ft long room and a shelf on the back wall that the projector sits on. My question is i have a beam across the room and would like to ceiling mount the projector out of site 8 feet from the screen.

Will this work and will i get a clearer and sharper picture?

Thanks for any advice

No, that won't work. Minimum is 12'7" for a 120" screen according to projectorcentral.com

PakZX3 -- I just looked ( http://www.projectorcentral.com/Pana...ulator-pro.htm ) and the minimum distance for a 120" diagonal, 16:9, screen is 11' 10", not 12' 7".

For a 120" diagonal, 2.35:1, screen the minimum distance is 12' 6" (about the same as you quoted). When quoting PJ mounting distance numbers, be sure to also indicate the type of screen you are referring to. It makes a big difference.
