Amplifier: Emotiva XPA-5 (200w x 5)

Subwoofer: BIC F-12

Crossover for all the speakers is @ 80

Would it blow my rears? i'm under the impression it wont because since its crossed over @ 80 it should not be sucking up all that power? also its placed not far away so its volume is lower.. just wanted to be sure.

No your RC-10s will be fine as surrounds, you'll never put 200 watts thru the surround channels anyway. They don't get that much content.


With the volume up that loud the front 3 speakers would drive you out of the room first.

I would not worry about the speakers blowing. Before long you will not be able to hear them anyway.

You will be fine. You would be more likely to blow your speakers if you didn't have the Emotiva, and powered your system with the Onkyo AVR. Not having enough power is what usually destroys speakers.


You have a good setup there.

I don't think going over +0 on a receiver/pre-amp is recommended, amp or not. Most likely introducing clipping/distortion.
