Will my H57 MOBO/W7 surport this 3TB HDD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236602
I have read windows7 home preium will not surport a large 3TB HDD w/out alot of expert configuring (according to the latest NE reviewer) it will want to install it as a 2TB.
I have two of these audio/video type drives the 2TB version and they work excellent and where rather simply to install.
I would like some more storage for my HTPC and would like to give the extra $25. for an addition TB.
I'm not really interested in the new purple version since it has not so good reviews.

I'm thinking this drive is better than the regular green type.
Thanks STB

Yeah SATA 3Gbps or 6Gpbs won't really matter. That's just interface speed. Buy the newer one, sure, but HDDs can't saturate 3Gbps anyway; even if you were running it at SATA 1.5Gbps, you'd not notice much difference in real world use. Real benefits to faster SATA speeds come from SSDs.

As for the motherboard thing, as mentioned it'll work but you'll have to partition it GPT. On older (non-UEFI) boards you're not going to be able to boot from it, but you'll still be able to use it in Windows as storage fine. I.e. You won't be able to use it if it's your only drive/boot drive, but otherwise you'll be fine.
