I have heard rumors but can't seem to find any hard facts about my question. I have heard that it WILL be able to decode full DTS-HD with a firmware upgrade? Does anybody know if this is true or even possible?

Is there a difference between DTS-HD and DTS-HD Master Audio? I thought it decoded DTS-HD as the Sony stand alone player claims to do this.

Yes there is a difference. DTS-HD is lossy and DTS-HD-MA is lossless.
