Will ReplayTV make good with early adopters re: 3060 upgrade?

I'm a ReplayTV early adopter, with a very early production model 2004.

We were promised firewire disk upgrades which never materialized (though let's not get into that thread here again).

The June "upgrade program", while useful for 2002 folks, was a joke for 2004 owners. Go from 27 hours to 30 hours for $300? Sorry, no.

Now the 3060 is announced, and I want to know, is Replay going to make good with their early adopters by offering a VERY attractive discount/trade-in program for 2004 owners, in lieu of the promised firewire upgrades, or are they going to leave us in out in the cold?

Now that everyone gets $100 off, the previous upgrade program's $200 off is only a $100 discount, which is a paltry 12.5% of the 3060 price.

Step up to the plate, Replay. I've been a big Replay evangelist and this is in danger of making me an evangelist for the competition.

I'm with you. I have a 2004 that I bought a little later then most (August '99), but I agree that the previous upgrade attempt was a joke for 2004 owners. Regardless, I see two ways in which Replay can save face: 1) lucrative trade/upgrade for a 3060 or 2) Firewire expansion drives. Personally, I like the 2004 because I can copy anything and everything if I want to, but the 30xx series has supposedly better video capability. But I really want digital audio capability, so what will I do if such an offer is made? Who knows? I'm completely confused and disappointed. I suppose all I can do is wait and see--and keep trying to build my own DVR with a PC.

Cheers
If either of you guys do get a second Replay, would you consider loaning your 2004 unit to lostboy, so he can look at the format used. As far as I know, the 2004 is the only unit with dual-drives.

Robman, you just gave Replay the best reason for getting the 2004's back in house. Maybe, just, maybe there could be a one-for-one swap. Hmmmm...

Personally, I wouldn't settle for a one-for-one swap, I'd hold out for more, those old 2004's are too valuable! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/smile.gif

Maybe, lostboy would do a one-for-one swap with you!
