P50 owners, greetings. If you have DirectTivo, has anyone successfully gotten the Tivo remote to work the power and volume controls on the P50? I tried the codes (0149 and 0228 I believe) but it didn't work.


Are there different codes, or does the display not respond to this remote?


Universal remote is in my future, but not my present.


My family appreciates your help.

I think it's time you looked at the MX-500 or MX-700.


I have the 42" Fujitsu and, among other things, a stand alone TiVo, and have been very happy with the MX-700. My impression is that the 500 is less expensive and less versitile, but many TiVo owners find them to be the best universal remotes out there.


Among other advangages, you get discrete on/off codes for the plasma, as well as discrete codes for all the wide/zoom modes, which are not available on the original remote control.


I think the lack of a direct answer to your question is that nobody with the sophisticated setup you describe has ever tried to control his system with the TiVo remote.
