You'd be better off going with an Intel i3 or i5 which comes with an integrated graphics and is capable of bitstreaming HD audio, but it has to be with a H55, H57 or Q57 chipset MB. Not all i series processors have the integrated graphics, so do a little research to make sure the model you're looking at does.

I can't answer that. But at least you don't have to worry about the video card getting in the way and you save some power by removing the ATI video card. You can always get an external SATA to USB enclosure for the BD drive worst case.
