Yes. Any IR USB receiver will work with a Harmony remote.

The e-bay version may have a better chance of supporting separate power on / power off commands based on my experience with both.

The one you linked to on Ebay is the one I bought at the recommendation of Assassin. He knows his stuff. Go with that one. I haven't built my htpc yet but I would still go with that one.

The ebay unit is the one I use with my Harmony One and several other remotes. Check around on ebay. You should be able to find one for a lot less. In fact, you can usually get the HP remote and receiver as a combo for around $10-12.

Like this IR seams to be imatation, no logo and cable is'nt on the middle of unit it's off to the side.

now this one appears to be legit. however the same thinpan co, sells another for $17. so I'm confussed again.

I know Assassin knows his stuff just confussed on the differnt HP IR models what model # doe's Assassin recommends # 5187-4593?

when you say $10-12 for both IR and remote 1. is it new? 2.is it from a US seller.3.doe's it have the HP logo?


I don't apply myself to much on

ebay searchs please send example link for a $10-12 HP IR

and remote.

Better safe than sorry IMO. You could take a chance on just a receiver that might be in the harmony database. But if you get a receiver and remote, you can always teach harmony if you need to.
