I am thinking of buying the Rotel 1055 and using it to run my Center, fronts, and surrounds. Then using my existing Sony V333ES to run my back surrounds and also work my outside speakers. Will I be able to watch TV/DVD and listen to music outside with this setup? Or should I just go out and buy the Denon 3802 or Sony 4ES? With the Denon or Sony would I be able to watch DVD 7.1 and listen to music outside without a separate amp? Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

You can make that work the way you describe.

But, a better solution would be to set up the RSX-1055 to run all of your speakers in the main home theater room.

Then, use the Zone 2 output of the RSX-1055 to drive the tape or aux inputs of the Sony for your outdoor speakers.

You can select any analog input for Zone 2, even if it's different than the input you are listening to in the home theater room. Just run a pair of RCA analog cables from each source, even if it's also connected to the RSX-1055 with a digital cable.

If you run a remote IR sensor from outdoors to the RSX-1055 and a remote IR emitter from the RSX-1055 positioned in front of your source components, you can control everything from outside with a remote control -- adjusting volume independently, selecting sources, turning Zone 2 on and off, changing channels, controling your CD player, etc.
