New to WMC7, I'm using the Media Browser plug-in.

I've ripped my Blu-ray library to MKV and was careful to select the Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD lossless audio track (in MakeMKV) to ensure I'm getting the highest quality audio possible.

My question is, will WMC/Media Browser play this lossless track by default, given that the rips also include the "Core" Dolby Digital 3/2 audio track as well? Is there anyway to tell? I don't really see any options in WMC or Media Browser for selecting different audio tracks.

My HTPC (running an ATI Radeon 6xxx card with HDMI output and lossless codecs enabled) should be bitstreaming the output, and my AV processor (Anthem Statement d2v) displays "PCM" during movie playback, I just want to make sure it's bitstreaming the lossless codecs, not just bitstreaming the core Dolby Digital track.

Thanks,

Robert

Yes, it should be bitstreaming the HD audio by default the way you have yours setup (since I know that it was setup correctly
)

Edit: Also have you run the WMC audio and video setup from within WMC? This needs to be done once you receive your HTPC.

There is no "default" setup for MKV in WMC7 because MKV is not a format natively supported by WMC7. If you install LAV Splitter, and ffdshow audio decoder or LAV audio decoder (and properly configure it), WMC7 will bitstream HD audio.
