Thought I would throw this out for discussion; Has anyone tried dynamic spanning of two HDD for storage of your Media Browser movie folders?


For instance spanning a 3TB HD and 500GB dynamic volume of unallocated space from the C: drive. Thus 3.5TB of total storage. This would allow for all the rips from the auto rip process and Media Browser folder naming to be stored on one 3.5 TB volume.


Has anyone used spanning with Media Browser?

I don't think you can span storage space in the manner you specify i.e. using only a partial allocation of one of the physical disks - at least not without using some type of funky 3rd party software solution.


I would imagine for your purposes, it would be much simpler to setup a Raid 0 array (assuming of course data redundancy isn't a big issue for you).

Just add a Movies folder from both drives to the Movies entry in Media Browser setup.
