Last night, PBS telecast this well-made program showcasing in HD four of the best aquariums in the U.S.: Shedd (Chicago), New England (Boston), Monterey, and Waikiki.

Very interesting ... a must-see for anyone who likes undersea life or aquariums.

PQ was good, though about 5-10% of the program was in SD.

none of it was in SD during the Seattle broadcast

I saw the Waikiki portion of the program but missed the other aquariums. From the little I saw the PQ was excellent, makes me want to get on the next plane to Hawaii.

I saw this one yesterday and it is in fact a truely spectacular HD hour.

I am a frequent visitor to both the Monterey aquarium (near my home) and to the Boston aquarium (which is not too far from my in-laws). I'm also familiar with Shedd since I used to live in the Chicago metro area. I'll have to say, HD is great but actually visting the aquarium is even better - reserve a half day for such a visit if at all possible, you'll not regret it.
