Sorry to bother you guys, but my first HTPC is slowing coming into play as my primary media device.

I'm having some trouble with it ALWAYS playing subtitles though, even when I don't want it to for movies.

I've tried turning off the settings in DVD and TV within Media Center itself, however it has no effect.

It's .avi's that I'm having this problem occur.

Anyone experienced similar or have any suggestions as to how to fix? Right now the only codec pack that I have on that I know of is DivX.

There doesn't seem to be any way to select a subtitle track from within the playback itself (unlike VLC Player, Media Player, etc).

Ideas?

Thanks.

Windows Media Center has never really had good support for controlling audio and subtitle tracks within files like divX, AVI, MKV, etc. It only really allows this option when you play DVDs. Turning on/off subtitles is better handled with an external coded like FFdshow or plugin like VOBsub. I use FFdshow. When a file is playing I have to get out of Media Center go to FFdshow system tray icon and deselect subtitles. This can also be accomplished with a program called Media Control, it allows you to turn on and off subtitles and change audio tracks all within Media Center, but I can't get that program to work to save my life.
