Mmm! Sounds good, I like the fact that it is designed to run with lower system requirements with less bloat. Looks like MS is finally going in the right direction with the focus being on stability and ease of use. Now how much??? Needs to be $99 for the equivalent of Vista Home Prem retail version.

Yeah that's about all I read that was anything really worthwhile and that is lower system specs. Even so I built my systems to now handle Vista specs, lol.

I saw a torrent for this the other day. Wondering if it is leaked intentionally...

Anyways I have no intention of installing it unless there is a free BETA. I am a little disappointed in what I have read. It seems most people are going the way of saying 'this is what Vista should have been' and thus they were so right about how horrible Vista is...while I have been using Vista since launch with nor more problems than I had with 95, 98, or XP.

Oh well...did I read that DX11 was available...? Is there any software supporting it yet?

Yeah I'm getting the same feeling as well, it's a mental marketing thingy. The faster boot up time is also ok. Not saying it won't be better but things they showed in the preview here, snooze.

well as a past beta tester for windows and maybe one now

its one of the BEST early software release I have seen. Sure its a Vista polish job but its this good, this early which gives me hope for a very nice release later this year.

PS typing this on Beta 1 as we speak.

98 was a polish job on 95, and 98 was incredible.

I've got my eyes on 7. vista I laugh openly at.

If this is just a fixed Vista w/ some extra bells & whistles it should get raves. And those fixes better make their way into Vista to smooth over a lot of users' still-ruffled feathers.

I am actually using the beta right now and it is pretty damn stable. It also has a very nice layout to it as well. It does seem to me like a upgrade that should of been vista... But i like it alot right now.

I just read on another thread. It's a free DL to the first 2.5 mil users and is good until August.
