According to a US tech consultant Stephen Speicher, Vista will make protected digital content all fuzzy unless it is viewed on high bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) compatible monitor.

Very interesting...

Just great, first early adapters of component only HDTVs and now many who run HTPCs. Those who just spent loads of money on a monitor, projector, plasma, or LCDTV that doesn't support PC video via HDMI will lose an important aspect of owning a HTPC. This HDCP is spelling nothing but trouble for many.

I asked some time ago if the Sharp LC-45GX6U direct to panel was HDCP compatible. I was told that if the panel was HDCP compatible via the AVC box then it would also be direct to panel as well. I've been hoping that this was correct ever since.
