Wireless Headphone Setup

749 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  DWavs
Current Setup is:

42" Vizio LCD HDTV

Pioneer xbox 360 surround sound system

Dish Network VIP 722 HD DVR Recorder

Panisonic DVD Recorder

I am basically new to all the equipment and am looking for a decent set of wireless headphones to be able to watch TV, movies, and play the xbox 360. FWIW, both my opticals from the pioneer are being used to feed into the xbox and the dvd player.

Any suggestions for a newbie?

Thanks!

David

i have the turtle beach x3's. they are quite nice. there is better, there is worse. for $100 i think they are amazing. i use them for gaming mostly, but some movies. they are designed for the 360 - they have the mic built in for live wich is nice.
Google DIR800C. I've had them for 3 yrs and love em. I just ordered a 3rd set of cans from audiocubes so me and 2 of my family members or friends can all listen at the same time.

What does the little receiver part of the headphone package plug into? I have no open optical and was wondering if I would have to go with a switch if I chose these?
After doing some reading, it appears I would need to get a switch or just unplug the dvd player when playing the xbox 360 or vice versa.

So these headphones can be used for everything? i.e...listening to a tv broadcast, DVD, gaming, tuner, etc??
well, the turtle beach ones i mentioned can.

I don't have live since I only have dial up on my road. That is why I am hesitant on buying a set that is so integrated and have a mic.
