Wireless Headphone system problem

I have a Denon AVR-2807 receiver used for TV and Blu-Ray. I just purchased the Sennheiser RS175 wireless headphones. The idea being I can watch either the TV or watch a movie play back using the headphones without the sound bothering anyone else. The Senneheiser has both analog and digital (optical) inputs available to use from the receiver. Ideally I would like to use Optical since the AVR-2807 seems to have Optical outputs.

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to accomplish this. Ideally I could press a single controller button, and switch off the regular speakers having the audio output to the Sennheiser unit only.

Any ideas? Thanks.

The source audio must be optical to the 2807 for there to be optical out.

I don’t see how your “ideally” is going to work, since there is no switch on the 2807 remote or front panel to turn off the speakers. You’ll have to plug the Sennheiser transmitter station to the Denon’s headphone jack when you want to use the headphones.
