I am really enjoying my new Dell 30" LCD HDTV. The progressive scan 480p from my 5000 box looks pretty good, even with analog SD cable coming in. However, not everything is totally rosy in the land of progressive scan 480p.

My setup is two 5000 boxes downstairs connected to a 10/100 D-Link switch, which in turn connects to a D-Link AirPlus "wireless client". The signal propagates upstairs to my D-Link AirPlus router, which is wired to my DVArchive server box. So, it's wired from 5000 to 5000, but wireless to the DVArchive server box. Only one 5000 is configured for progressive scan 480p.

So, I can stream to the progressive scan 5000 from the non-progressive scan 5000 with no glitches or problems. I can stream from the DVArchive server box to the non-progressive scan 5000, but if I try to stream from the DVArchive server to the progressive scan 5000, it's instant crash of the 5000. And before you ask . . . yes, I was able to stream to this 5000 box prior to setting it for progressive scan.

I may have to pay someone to CAT-6 my house and be done with it. :D

Bye.
