Not sure if this is the right forum, so mods please move if necessary.

I have two listening zones (indoor and outdoor), each zone has 5.1 with a separate receiver. I am wondering what the easiest way is to wire these together. Currently I have three primary sources: Satellite, Blu-Ray, and Wii. I am running through some splitters and such to get the signal where I want it to go (See Diagram).

Is there an easier way to do this? Such that, can I run all of my sources into one receiver, and then output the video and audio to another receiver without going through HDMI splitters? If so, how do I wire that?

Basically I want the ability to run in both locations simultaneous. Thanks for your help!

So JD, I am assuming that you are running component-coax/opt then from each source to the individual receivers, but not receiver to receiver.

Out of curiosity, would Optical/Coax pass TrueHD Audio?

No lossless over legacy audio connections. The audio you get is still an improvement to typcial DVD audio offerings.

Now, for 5.1 systems? I'd just install two systems in all honesty.

We bumped this to the top a couple of times, maybe somebody else will have better suggestions for you.

Using two receivers and a single HDMI source isn't a bad idea. Just get an HDMI splitter/booster device to minimize video/audio dropouts. I use one for splitting the sat box signal - one cable is only 2' long - the other is 45' long and I get great video and audio in both rooms - and at the same time if I want. With a non-boosted splitter the video and audio were unreliable even with one room shut off.
