I have recently purchased a Yamaha amp and a Klipsch speaker system which included a sub-woofer , a center channel, and (4) Quintet II speakers. I have had the system for 4 months and can’t find anyone to run wires to the (2) rear Quintet IIs. I have a vaulted ceiling with little to no crawl space in the attic. I thought that my only recourse was to keep the wires on the ground under the carpet (parallel to the baseboards) and then use telescopic speaker stands to mount the rear surrounds. The folks at Best Buy informed me that you can't use a telescopic speaker stand because of the Klipsch factory mounted bracket on the Quintet II. What can I do to hook up my rear speakers 25' in front of the amp when I can't drop wires down a wall from the attic

Are you in a single-story building? If so, do you have a crawl space under the house where you can run wire?

If not, there are several brands of flat speaker wire (including Monster Cable) that is made to run up the wall and be painted over.

There is no crawl space under the floor and yes I do live in a single story. Can I use smaller guage wire since the 2 rear speaker provide less wattage when used in a home theatre configuration? Smaller wire could be run under the carpet. Thanks for your response.

If there's space above the ceiling, drill a small hole and see if you can snake a wire to a point where there is access. Then drop down.

A strip of wire mould will help dress the wire coming up from under the carpet.

AND... I wouldn't take the word of some Best Buy sales person on what can be done with telescoping speaker stands. Think "custom"

Good Luck.
