That time of the week again,

wirns 0.5a has just been released on sourceforge. As hinted at in the 0.4 thread, this version should have fixed multi-provider support. Additionally, a plugin system/api has been developed for the server for future extensability, and the move to SQLite instead of MySQL has been completed.

EDIT: Please do not use 0.5, I forgot 1 plugin and mis-packaged one (on the server side only), this will be updated today. Apologies.

Please provide feedback

So far so good. Full update seems to be working. Below is a note re. XMLTV. Please everyone update to this version when it is available. It's important that we do our best to cooperate with Zap2It. Thanks

Cliff

============================

I plan on releasing 0.5.19 tomorrow afternoon.

Zap2it has been reporting problems with XMLTV users pummling

their system with requests when http 500 errors occur. Instead

of them blocking us altogether, we will be releasing a fix, and

soon after, they will probably start blocking xmltv 0.5.17 and

0.5.18 users. We were unable to come up with an alternative

solution other than to share the responsibility and somehow force

0.5.17 and .18 users to upgrade.

Unless someone has a bit problem with a release tomorrow, 0.5.19

will go out tomorrow and 0.5.1[78] usage of tv_grab_na can be

expected to stop monday or tuesday.

Thanks for the update cliff,

It is important to note that the reason for this is users were setting their retry-delay to 0 (this isn't nice people, have consideration for TMS/Zap2IT for even allowing this to happen, they could quite easily stop it)

That little mini-rant wasn't directed at anyone in particular, so no one take offence, just directed at people doing things to servers like that in general. I had a similar experience where an ISP decided to "test" their proxy server by hammering one of mine with 30 requests per second for 5 straight days. Of course they didn't call/email/ask before hand.

Ok. Here is what I got.

Import seemed to work ok. After stopping and starting the importer, I saw listings there.

I set up the replay and the server. I see the replay being replied to by the server, but this is where I have a issue.

I changed the Replay TV zip to force a query for the providers, but I don't see the providers that I set up.

sqlite> select * from providers;

Local|Local OTA|A||

BEV|BEV|S||

sqlite>

I've deleted all the providers and am addint them one at a time. The "Antenna" listing did OK, on to BEV.

Yep working on that now. I got greedy and set up 3 at once, Now I'm going a bit slower, one at a time.

While I'm killing time waiting for XMLTV :)

I'm seeing you askking for DTV serial sniffes. Thanks, that will be GREAT.

When, If, you tune this gem to choose what providers to intercept, and allow the others to update from RTV, that will also be super.

Got a clue to the RTV IR blaster code for a BEV 3100 is?

Thanks I'll let you know what happens after I try to use BEV.

The prompt Udate Thread Completed is my cue that all import activity is finished?

No clue on the IRB code sorry.

Update Thread completed is queue that you can go do another import action.

As for passing some codes on to rp, and intercepting others, thats hard because of the way the replay requests channel info. It doesn't tell the provider, it just uses the TMSID which xmltv doesn't parse. Its better to just grab the listings from zap2it for all your providers.

Ok, Using zap2it is fine. I figure until the serial device is enabled, I'll set up some dual timers on the 4DTV and the RTV. Hate to lose the serial interface, as it makes life nice, but having a full dataset is a fair trade off.

(Bev is still importing, more updates in a bit)

If I haven't said thanks yet for this release, or even if I have. Thank You!

Found the bug, apologies again, was a stupid mistake in the plugin on my behalf. I've attached a replacement to this thread that should fix your problem. Just overwrite the old ZipProvider.dll plugin with this one.

Looking VERY good. I have all 3 of my services on the replay! (cue Trumpets!)

I'm working on setting up manual timers to keep my big dish pointing to the right place for those listings that need the serial interface. The RTV controls BEV just fine.

Very Nice Job Indeed.

I'm going to force a full 13 update and see if that goes well too. (I was cheating just a bit and doing single days to get things set up).

Again, what a nice job!

Well, I now have that Ethereal, when I troubleshot the provider issue. You'll have to give me a couple of step by steps though. I take it we'd be listening to what RTV sends to a direct tv listing?

Housekeeping question.

I'd add to your readme the preferred way to start the Wirns Server. Startup, or ?
