Witch decoder will take the most out of Intel Clear Video?

Hello gents,

Witch decoder will take the most out of Intel Clear Video? I'm using right now PureVideo decoder that works fine but I'm not sure that I'm getting the best of Intel Clear Video technology. I was directed to WinDVD 8 Platinum, but I'm not sure. This will be for a G35 IGP.

What you are thinking guys?

Thank you,

Charles

WinDVD Platinum, PowerDVD Ultra. Possibly the Arcsoft player (they claimed they were working with Intel), and possibly Windows Media Player (the last is pure speculation).

Archibael,

What is your favorite? I've seen on the net that WinDVD was very buggy. I would prefer a decoder that use VRM9; seems I'm out of luck with WinDVD & PowerDVD for that?
Unless I'm a little old minded and overlay does now a better job than VRM9?

Thanks in advance.

Stick with powerdvd ultra for now, and keep praying something better shows up
EVR is the new renderer you'll want to use.

I think that PowerDVD's builtin enhancements provide a better result than Intel ClearVideo while playing back DVD content, and ffdshow for anything else.

I'm still using XP so I guess EVR is still out of the question. With PowerDVD do you mean that I need to uncheck the HW acceleration and use CLEV technology?

Thanks

Charles
I couldn't have worded it better.
