My available input sources are:

1) Apartment Community's cable service (which is AptMediaWorks.com) which uses DISH Network as the source and then feed the channels to all the apartment units through coaxial cable. They also offer a "Digital" Cable service through a Motorola DSR410.

2) DVD Player

I'm wondering if I'd be benefiting from buying an EDTV Plasma now with 90% of my viewing from "Cable" or wait till later. I'm not even sure if the "Digital" cable service would provide an improved picture on the plasma?

Please help me, I'm confused. I can't setup my own DBS system because of the trees.

There's certainly no reason why you couldn't enjoy a plasma now. Just the quality of DVDs that you watch will make it worth while.

Digital channels usually look a lot better than analog counterparts, particularly on digital TVs. But lots of "digital cable" services leave the networks and all the stuff you normally want to watch in analog anyway. How good do the channels look? If they're grainy and nasty on your current TV those flaws will be blown up. If it's a decent quality feed it will be fine on a plasma, particulary an EDTV. Given that your complex rebroadcasts satellite the DSR box may give you everything in digital quality.
