Hey guys. I am getting a new 1080p set (its not going to deal w 24hz unless "forced") and I currently own a Hd-a2. With all the talk about how poor the A30 or A35 are at dealing with the 1080p\\24 to 60hz transfer, and how alot of people are just leaving their players in 1080i mode to let teh TV do the de-lacing...if that is the case, should I just stick with my A2 and pop it in 1080i mode? Or am I completely mis understanding the issue. Thanks!!!

Anyone? since the A30 and A35 cannot send 1080p/60 very well, should i just rely on the A2 to send 1080i to the samsung hl-t5076s?

I can't imagine any reason to upgrade if you you already have the A2. 1080i should look the same assuming your TV has decent de-interlacing like most newer TVs do. Well, upscaling is supposed to be better with the A30 and A35 though, if that is important.

This is assuming that 1080i actually looks BETTER than 1080p\\60 (assuming my tv cannot properly do 1080/24), correct?

I have an A30 and the upconversion looks great. I don't know how it compares to the A2. But HD DVD content shouldn't be an issue if you have an A2. So the question is if you want the 7 free movies and a better upconverter player?
