Ok I have seen the minimum recommended specs. However i am puzzled why my

IBM Laptop

celeron 1300 mhz centrino

512 ram

can play the 720 clips and some 1080 clips but my desktop

1.4ghz AMD athlon

768MB ram

stutters when playing any of them.

Why? This puzzles me. I know my 1.4 ghz athlon shouldnt be able to play it but why the hell can a 1.3ghz celeron laptop can?

To be honest, I would have thought the intel extreme graphics 2 would not have been enough to play 720p. I had a lot of troubles with HD video until I enabled fast writes on my graphics card. Maybe the GF2MX on board nforce doesn't allow fast writes?

skilzygw,

If you're correct that your notebook is a 1.3 GHz Centrino and not a Celeron that you stated later in your post, that CPU runs CIRCLES around a 1.4 GHz Athlon, especially if it's the older Athlon series. A 1.3 GHz Centrino is about comparable to a Pentium 4 2.0 GHz machine.

I have a Dell X300 with a 1.2 GHz Centrino w/1MB L2 cache and it plays my 720p WMV9 titles perfectly. While my Athlon 1.1 GHz desktop machine stutters extremely badly attempting to play WMV9 HD.

They do make a Celeron M that is 1.3 Ghz. It is the 320 model. If in any way it is like the Pentium M I can see why it would play the files. A couple people at work have the 1.6 ghz Pentium M and it plays them great.

I have seen some people knock the Pentium M but they just don't know. It really is a powerful processor. I assume the Celeron M might be close to it.
