I got a email from Cinemanow yesterday saying they were now offering WMVHD format movies to download. So I went over to the sight and saw one I had always wanted to see, The Magic of Flight. I paid the $20 and began my download. It cut off at around 75% and started the download over. I gave up and figured I would try again today. It again cut it off around 75% and started over. This time I am going to let it run out and hope it finishes. Consider I have a 3000k download speed and I am only getting 178K from cinemanow the download is taking forever and it's not picking up where it left off, even though the file sits on my hard drive!?!
So I open the file on my hard drive. It has a ASF extension. I can't fast foward or rewind. No chapter select, NOTHING. I am only guessing, but from all the weird things it asked me to install before the download began I am betting the movie will only work on my one computer and will no longer work once I get a new computer and throw the old one away.
Amazon sells it with the DVD version for only $16. Already on disc that I can only imagine you can use on multiple computers.
I emailed cinemanow and told them I WANT MY MONEY BACK and have no use for you crippled movie format that I can't even finish downloading anyway. Since they only give me 48 hours to download the movie, I am sure to get a response in a little over 48 hours.
Sucks to be burned for $20. I hope they choke on the steak dinner they buy with my $20 and die!
