WNBC KICKS OFF NEW YORK GIANTS PRESEASON GAMES


First of Four New York Giants Preseason Games to Air This Saturday on NBC 4


New York, NY - August 11, 2005 - The return of the NFL to NBC in 2006, kicks off one year early on WNBC with the airing of four New York Giants preseason games. The games begin this Saturday, August 13, as the Giants open their 2005 preseason schedule against the Cleveland Browns at Cleveland. WNBC's Len Berman, Otis Livingston and Bruce Beck will be on location for all four match-ups, ringing in the action with a half-hour pre-game show beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.


At kick-off on Saturday, play-by-play duties for the Giants/Browns match-up will be handled by New York Giants announcer Bob Papa, with commentary from former Giant, Carl Banks. Livingston and Beck will work the sidelines with former Giant Harry Carson, with Berman hosting the half-time show from the Cleveland Browns Stadium.


Team Berman, Livingston and Beck will also be on location for the following New York Giants 2005 preseason games, again providing a pre and half-time show, as well as sideline commentary:


· Sat. Aug. 20 CAROLINA 8:00 p.m. ET

· Fri., Aug. 26 JETS 8:00 p.m. ET

· Thurs., Sept. 1 at New England 8:00 p.m. ET


WNBC is the new home for New York Giants preseason games for the next three years. The games will be broadcast in hi-definition, and are one of the first locally broadcast NFL games to be aired in hi-definition.
