I have a 4GB mpg file which is a high quality recording i've DVA'd off the RTV.

When I do a GOP scan on it, many 1 & 2 errors are detected.

Then i select an output file and hit FIX.

In about 2 seconds it shows the errors as fixed but if i run the GOP scan again the errors are still there. Plus no output file was ever written.

Anyone come across this issue??

Or am i doing something completely wrong. Until i fix this I am unable to edit the file because it gets completely out of sync.

Thanks.

I have seen your problem. And was unable to resolve it.

I would suggest another download of the file and try

again. But I don't think that would help.

You can also re-pack the file again using TMPENC.

Same stats in/out and re-pack. TMPENC maybe able

to correct the file. Then womble maybe to handle it.

Be sure you have the latest version of Womble. There were several updates and they had the same version number. Some of the earlier ones had minor problems with the GOP fixer.

When you bring up the GOP fixer, select the file you wish to check. Don't bother putting anything in the "save" .. it will just use your existing file name. Then click on the "All Above" option and it will scan and then fix and should take several minutes for a file that large. If you don't have the "All Above ==> Scan ==> Fix == GOP resize" option then you have an older version.

Now if using that technique doesn't work, then it's possible there are errors the GOP fix can't handle. Rare but possible.

setting a file to write only fixes "3" errors ( gop size ) .. the "1" & "2" errors ( gop time and audio time ) you dont set a file name .. just hit the fix button.

Figured it out.

If you have the MPEG open for editing, GOP Fix will not work.

The scan will work but it won't apply the fixes.

Solution - Make sure you have no MPEG's open in Womble when using GOP Fix.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions.
