Hello all,


I've been browsing around the web searching for a replacement evc cable for my Davis DL 450 clone. I found that some Hewlett Packard workstations have EVC video cards and use EVC-15HD adapter cables for monitors with 15HD inputs only. Would these cables be good for using with my

Davis DL 450 clone or would the wiring pinouts be different?

These should be more readily available in australia as no one seems to know of EVC at all and original replacement is ridiculously over-priced. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/frown.gif

Members of this forum have reported success using a VGA to EVC converter and just an ordinary VGA cable. http://www.networktechinc.com/cgi-bi...vcm-15hdf.html

It has been suggested that pin number 9 of the VGA cable be disabled to prevent a .5v current from being sent back to your computer from the projector.

It is a DVI - EVC cable. I thought DVI was for digital signals and that EVC was for analog signals. How would this work.

Would just like to point out that (here in Norway at least) Davis dealers should be able to source EVC-VGA adapters directly from Davis` distribution (Allthough they`re NOT cheap, as some people have already commented on).

If you order from HP, the EVC Video Adapter part number is 1253-0635. It is OEM from Molex. Mine is black and matches nicely to my DL450 and Black VGA cable. Cost me $16.

Search for "EVC" and you will see some cables that are reasonably priced. I can't speak for the quality.
