Pretty cool though I'm shuddering when I think about what this is going to cost.
Wow, I want one. Where do I sign up to be a BR fanboy?
I wonder what section of hell will have to freeze over before we get anything like this stateside.

It can also play back Blu-ray discs, outputting Hi-Def video via DVI or HDMI.
Interesting. This does mean it'll have a DVI output as well as an HDMI output right?

Not likely. It sounds like it uses the Abit motherboard that recently passed AACS certification (CoreDuo, and all that), and that board had HDMI only. DVI will most likely require an adapter.

I'll throw in my guess for 2500 dolla's! :D

3 Ghz Pentium D and 2 GB or ram?!?! I still don't understand what is justifying resources like this for a videoplayer.

Oops, I forgot, it is running a media center OS, too, no? These things aren't just "players" anymore, eh?
Dang.... all these HD-DVD and BD players are made like a damn PC. Hell... I'll just build myself a universal player that plays both formats...... I just need to find a HDCP compliant Video card and the drives.........

With embedded graphics, it will also need to do software decoding for much of the content. Expect that 64-bit chip to be pegged much of the time at 1080p.
That would have been my guess, as well, but I have been informed at a different forum that it is the broadcom chip that is doing this job in the Toshiba hd-dvd unit. So I assume this player would use a Broadcom chip in a similar manner. I could be wrong, but this thing just gets weirder and weirder, imo. That is, this BR player built nearly identically as the Toshiba unit as a PC in-a-box design, but why would one use the Broadcom chip and the not the other? It will be interesting to get more info on this as details filter in...
This isn't a CE player like the toshiba, this is a PC that will run windows etc. It is just using a HT friendly case design. It will have a keyboard and everything else a pc has.
