If you have an existing screen that you can't spot any flaws in, I would stick with what you have.


You might gain some "punchiness" to the image (brighter, better contrast) by changing screens -- but not enough to justify the cost (IMHO).


Better to invest in having a good (recommended) ISF tech come and give the system a once over and set your gray scale. Sorry, I have no recommendations for ISF in your area.

I have a Sony 1271Q and I use it with a plain old screen with a gain reading of 1.0 (I think it's called a

'Brentwood' or something like that) as recommended by the installer when the projector was installed. (

for some reason the installer didn't seem all that high on screens with gain) It seems to work well and I

can't say that I'm unhappy with it.


I am just wondering, I know that the Stewart screens are very well respected and some of the Home

Theater mags use them as a reference when testing projectors.


Can anyone please tell me if I would see much of a difference going from my present screen to a

Stewart Studiotek with a gain of 1.2 or 1.3?
