So I may end up selling my Denon 1613 and getting a slightly higher receiver, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth spending a little extra or not. Keep in mind I spent $199 for my Denon 1613 so it would have to make sense financially as well to upgrade. Here are some options I've seen so far that look decent:

Denon 1713 (has MultiEq XT plus zone 2) = $280

Marantz NR1403 (Has same Audyssey as current receiver and.the weight concerns me of only 18 lbs and only 50 watts per channel. Does this have a preout for an additional amp that could help drive the front speakers during a 5.1 setup?) = $299

Yamaha V575 (Is 7.2 rather than 5.1. Does this have preout for additional amp as well. I can't tell...) = $299

So, those are the ones I've seen. Any thoughts people have on if paying the extra $100 or so is worth it, or am I better holding on to my cash? Thanks!

Just realized the Marantz has no ethernet capability, so I've ruled that out.

What are your goals for the upgrade? Additional features (like 7.1 vs 5.1) or increases sound quality? Different sound?

The Yamaha will sound different than your 1613. Whether you will like the difference is completely up to you. The 1713 is a step up from the 1613 in the room correction department. Although I don't know if that would be enough for me to want to upgrade. I'd be tempted to try out something different if you are not completely happy with the Denon 1613.

BTW: You need the 775 (or last year's 773) to get pre-amp outputs.
