I am almost at 2000 bulb hours and know it would cost about $350 dollars for a new bulb.I also noticed i could sell my AE700U on ebay for about $500.Would it be an upgrade to the Panasonic AX200U because of the contrast ratio and lumns increase?

What would i be giving up in my old projector to make the switch?

Thanks for any help

Really depends on your budget... Most here will tell you that it is not a big improvement. I just got the epson HC 720. While I'm happy with my purchase, I see myself upgrading in a year or so.

Overall I think you will be pleased with the performance of the AX200u over what you are currently looking at and you will be moving on before something starts to go wrong with your AE700. However, you will be giving up the reliability you know exists in your AE700 so far for an unknown and yet new PJ.

I would save up for a 1080p projector like this . You will se an improvement, but you will just want to upgrade to 1080p in a few years.
